In 1943 1 out of 3 Tigers was incapable of combat because of those secondary defects. to make those tanks incapable due to secondary defects - which worked pretty well. While that's true that there are odd situations occuring in vcoh and EF sometimes - realism isn't what CoH is about and also nothing that CoH aims to emphasize at any point.Īs a side note, the AT rifles will get some adjustments in their target tables against heavy tank rear armour.īut I hope that you know that Soviets used AT rifles to destroy and damage axis tank main guns, lenses, treads etc. Tanks fight on 1000-2000m, infantry between 100 and 500m. Most maps are between 250m and 900m in diameter, which is not even remotely enough to simulate proper combat ranges. Look at CoH 2, there a "more realistic" combat system is in place, and it leads to even more blobbing, more RNG squad wipes, squad wipes in general which is cancer to the unit preservation mechanics of CoH, and all the axis tanks are OP as ♥♥♥♥ because allies can't spam tanks at a 10 to 1 ratio that would be necessary to truly simulate "realism".Īlso, map sizes are way too small to actually simulate a real combat. MG weapons in CoH are meant to control areas, and that's what they do. So, what is the benefit of an MG 42 mowing down soldiers on the open field? I don't see one, apart from looking at soldiers dying in the first place.
